    Climate

  1. Sweden has a much milder climate than most other regions of the world that lie as far north.
  2. July temperatures in Sweden average 13 to 17°C. February is usually Sweden's coldest month, with temperatures from - 22 to -3°C.
  3. In northern Sweden, winter temperatures often drop to -30°C, sometimes even lower.
  4. Snow covers the ground in southern Sweden from December to April, and in northern Sweden the first snowfall is often already in October.
  5. Most of the country is icebound in winter, but special icebreaking boats keep the major ports open.

    MANDATORY DOCUMENTS FOR ACADEMIC INTERVIEW

  1. A completed and signed application form no. 119031, Application for Schengen Visa.
  2. Original bank draft (from any bank) as payment of the application fee.
  3. A passport or some other valid travel document.
  4. This must:
  5. - be valid for at least three months after your departure from the Schengen area
    - contain at least two empty pages
    - have been issued during the past ten years.
  6. Mandatory to submit all previous passports.

  8. Individual medical insurance covering the cost of emergency treatment and transport home for medical reasons.
  9. Enough money to support yourself during your stay. In general, Sweden requires you to have SEK 450 per day/person. The required amount may be less if for instance you have paid for board and lodging in advance or live with friends or relatives. The embassy requires proof that you can support yourself, e.g. in the form of a statement of account from your bank or a wage specification for the past six months. If the person who is inviting you to Sweden will be paying for your support, you must show in the same way that he/she has enough money to do so.
  10. Enough money for the return journey, or a return ticket.
