The Slovak Republic (Slovakia) is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is bordered by the Czech Republic and Austria to the west, Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, and Hungary to the south. Its capital is Bratislava. The official language of the Slovak Republic is Slovak, and the currency is the euro (EUR).
Slovakia joined both the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union (EU) in the spring of 2004 and the Euro area on 1 January 2009. Slovakia has made significant economic reforms since its separation from the Czech Republic in 1993. Reforms to the taxation, healthcare, pension, and social welfare systems have helped Slovakia to consolidate its budget.
Slovakia's economic growth exceeded expectations from 2001 to 2008 despite the general European slowdown. The 4Q 2017 gross domestic product (GDP) grew by more than 3%. As of 4Q 2017, the unemployment rate reported by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic is 7.7%.
A foreigner who wishes to obtain a Slovak student visa should start by identifying a nearby issuing agency (Slovak embassy or consulate general) in home or neighboring country.
When the most appropriate issuing agency is identified, the foreign applicant then goes ahead with the application process by finding out the requirements and procedure for obtaining the visa he / she wants to obtain;
The applicant then compiles all the required documents and also makes the necessary payment for the desired visa;
Thereafter, the applicant submits obtains a visa application form, which he / she must fill carefully and accurate and there after submit the filled visa application together with compiled documents above and payment receipt to the identified issuing agency (Slovak embassy or Consulate general in home or neighbouring country);
